When applied to the soil, cyanazine is absorbed by the
roots and is translocated up the plant into the leaves.
This herbicide works by inhibiting photosynthesis.

on rats and mice indicate adverse effects on prostate,
liver and kidneys. No carcinogenic effects reported. |

Other information
Cyanazine is essentially atrazine with
cyanide attached to it. It is a teratogen (causes birth
defects) and a mutagen (causes genetic mutations) as
well as a carcinogen.
Overall, cyanazine is the most toxic triazine herbicide,
and may be the most toxic of all herbicides found in
drinking water.
