SERVICES
FOOD & DRINK

Our laboratories have been performing pesticide residue analysis
for 20 years and we therefore understand the need for fast, accurate
and reliable analysis. We offer a choice of tailored services,
which allow our customers to deliver the product assurance the
market place demands.
Quality – The
laboratory has UKAS
accreditation to
ISO 17025 for analysis in foodstuffs with one of the widest
ranges of pesticide screens in the UK. We routinely participate
in FAPAS proficiency
testing and we also hold GLP compliance.
In addition, we maintain a well developed and extensive internal
quality control system, which helps control critical, processes
and ensures consistency and accuracy of results. Click
here for more
details.
- Integrity – As
an independent laboratory we maintain total confidentiality
of the identity of our clients and their information.
- Efficiency – We routinely work
to and deliver a typically 5 and maximum 10 working
day turnaround for fruit and vegetables – but regularly
meet faster turnarounds and can deliver rapid
analysis for positive release situations, when requested
to do so.
- Multi Residue screening -
This is the core of pesticide residue monitoring. We
offer a very comprehensive and relevant screen for some 150
analytes including:
- In-house analysis – Restec@Eclipse offers
testing for a very wide range of pesticides much of which is
UKAS accredited. This means we rarely need to subcontract the
analyses requested by our clients, enabling us to deliver results
rapidly and all generated from the same high quality testing
system.
- Sample collection -
Our fleet of fully refrigerated vehicles provides a nationwide
sample collection service, enabling us to keep control of the
condition of samples from the moment they leave the client’s
site.
- Residue Emergency Service (RES) – We
know that sometimes our clients need results ASAP. Our emergency
response service reports results and offers technical support
the same day or within 24hrs, when required.
- Electronic Reporting - Electronic and/or hard
copy Test Certificates are provided to all our clients. Any results
outside the MRL specification are communicated immediately, according
to the procedure previously agreed - but usually by telephone
by a senior member of the Residues team to a client nominated
contact.
For fresh produce, results are reported in the recommended Fresh
Produce Consortium format and include the following information
all relevant sample details
test results
method references
recovery data
EU/UK MRLs
- Web based access to results and data trending – Eclipse
has a dedicated IT support team which has developed the most
advanced secure web based portal system available within the
industry, delivering:
- Authorised results, immediately available, with all sample
details attached
- Secure and controlled sharing of information, across multiple
client sites
- Data trending customised to clients’ own
specifications
- A vital management tool, saving hours of client time in manipulating
results, for analysing changes and making comparisons
- Support and Guidance -
We aim to develop strong working relationships with our clients.
We offer technical support and assistance in devising pesticide
residue schedules and protocols – utilising
our technical expertise, knowledge of historic residue patterns,
PRC programmes and pesticide usage. We work with our clients,
combining their wealth of knowledge about their products together
with our expertise on pesticide residues, legislation and analysis
to ensure monitoring programmes are relevant, targeted and cost
effective.
- Monthly Pesticide Bulletin - In addition to
providing specialist technical support we are committed to ensuring
we help our clients keep up to date with current developments.
We provide them with a month by month summary of all the latest
news and developments within the field of pesticide residues,
together with interpretation of new legislation and e-mail it
to a nominated contact. Click here to see archive copies of these Bulletins.
- Development and Innovation - Keeping abreast
of new compounds, test methods and technology is vital to our
business success. A planned capital investment programme, including
state of the art LC-MS, maintains current technology at the forefront
of laboratory analysis.
