Vinclozolin

Of the class Dicarboximide, it is practically non-toxic and is classified by the World Health Organisation as ‘unlikely to present acute hazard in normal use’.

Chemical name: (RS)-3-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-5-methyl-5-vinyl-1,3-oxazolidine-2,4-dione

Crops / products generally treated with this product

It is a general use pesticide used on soft fruits such as grapes and strawberries, vegetables, ornamental plants and turf grass.

Used to control

Fungal growths, inhibits spore germination .

Known risks associated with high exposure

No significant risks have been reported in laboratory studies.

There are concerns about potential adverse reproductive impacts of vinclozolin.

Within the EU the pesticides remains approved whilst in the US, the EPA is committed to phasing out most uses of Vinclozolin.

Not known to accumulate in the environment.
